harmony food pantry
Hunger is what you feel when you don’t have enough to eat. Food insecurity is the set of circumstances that prevent your access to healthy, nutritious food. Some studies indicate that as many as 37% of North Lawndale residents experience food insecurity at some point.
We invite those who reside in zip codes 60608, 60612, 60623, 60624 & 60632
who do not have access to sufficient, healthy food to come to the Harmony Food Pantry for groceries.
Pantry Hours:
Wednesdays, 10:30 am to 1 pm
Our Mission
To reduce food insecurity in our community by acquiring and distributing nutritious foods. To offer a wide selection of foods that will encourage healthy choices, helping to reduce obesity, hypertension, diabetes and heart disease. To partner with neighborhood organizations, hospitals and education institutes to identify the needs of individuals with health requirements and source the foods needed.
Senior home delivery
We have many neighbors in North Lawndale, blessed by age, that cannot safely come to the Harmony Food Pantry to get food — so we bring it to them! This Senior Home Delivery program is made possible through our partnership with I Am Able and funding provided by RRF Foundation for Aging. Together, we provide nutritious food and other essentials to help keep those over 65 healthy and safe. This program is currently available to Seniors who reside in the 8-block area bound by 16th Street, Central Park, Ogden and Ridgeway Avenues.
