summer intensive reading clinic

Only 47% of children in North Lawndale public schools read at or above the National Average – compared to 86% in Lincoln Park. Our Summer Intensive Reading Clinic addresses this inequity with an 8-week intensive course that meets four times per week. Referred children are tested, and a unique reading program is developed for each child. Their progress is monitored throughout the summer. All children become more confident readers; most improve their reading ability by at least a grade.
